There are numerous ways to get involved with Brittany Foundation's mission. Whether by volunteering at our faciity, fostering an animal that needs a home until an adoption becomes possible or by sponoring an animal at our ranch, you can help ensure that a dog gets the care it needs. Below are some of the ways to get involved. Feel free to contact us about your interest, or with any questions.

We always need dog lovers to volunteer to help The Brittany Foundation. Volunteer work at the ranch can include:
Cleaning kennels
- Walking dogs
- Playing with the dogs
in our large run
- Grooming
- Bathing
- Laundry
- Small landscape
and maintenance projects
We always need volunteers at any of our adoption events throughout the Santa Clarita Valley and Los Angeles. Volunteers set up our adoption canopy, transport dogs, and interact with the public to try to make the perfect human/canine match.
We have many fundraising events throughout the year, from comedy nights to our annual Day In Their Paws. Volunteers acquire donations for raffle and silent auction prizes, sell tickets or raise sponsorship funds, publicize the event, and much more.
Our monthly bake sales, held each fourth Sunday, are a particularly popular fundraiser. We need bakers to provide homemade goodies for sale, as well as volunteers to man the busy booth at the Santa Monica Airport.
One area that we could really use help in is grant writing. Our sanctuary relies largely on grants to keep our doors open, so if you’re experienced with grant writing and wish to use your volunteer time this way, it would be greatly appreciated.
Volunteers are also needed to help publicize our dogs available for adoption through the many print, radio, television, and online media outlets such as AdoptaPet.com and Petfinder.com. This allows you to work from home as a virtual volunteer and is very convenient for those who are not able to make it to the sanctuary or various events.
Groups such as the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, and Elks are welcome, as well, whether you want to come down and provide hands-on work or wish to create a special fundraising effort through your organization. We are flexible, creative, and open to your ideas.

Are you interested in having a dog, but maybe can’t afford it or can’t commit to forever? Consider becoming a foster home.
We have many dogs who would love to live in a foster home until they find their forever family. Dogs in foster care still belong to The Brittany Foundation, so we provide food and veterinary care while the dog remains up for adoption.
Foster homes are a wonderful way for us to find out exactly how a dog will behave in a home situation. While our staff and volunteers are very experienced in assessing a dog’s temperament and activity needs, it can be difficult to assess a dog for home placement when the only place we’ve seen the dog is in a shelter or a kennel environment.
As a foster parent, you will know the dog better than anyone, and you can provide valuable information to help place the dog. By fostering, you’ll not only experience the joys of living with a dog, you’ll be helping a Brittany Foundation dog find his or her perfect permanent home.
The dog does need to be available for mobile adoption events and select open house Sundays as requested. As such, foster homes need to be local (close enough to Agua Dulce to make transportation to adoption events feasible).
If you’re interested in fostering, please complete our adoption application. Even though you’re not adopting, your answers on the application will enable us to match you with a foster dog that will be compatible with you and your lifestyle.
Once you’ve been matched with a dog, we’ll deliver the dog as we do a home check, which is simply a walk-through of your home to make sure it is secure for the dog (fences, etc).
Help a homeless dog today by fostering with The Brittany Foundation. Not only will you make a new best friend, you’ll ensure their success in the future.

Sponsoring a dog means that you contribute to a particular dog's care at our ranch. All of our dogs could use sponsors, especially our Special Needs Dogs that will be with us the rest of their lives.
For a donation of $10.00 to $15.00 per month, your sponsorship helps defray our costs of caring for a dog. This is a great way for people who can't provide a home to a dog to still care for and help a dog thrive. All our dogs receive love, attention and care. Sponsoring allows you to provide that love through us, in an environment where your sponsored dog is happy.
If you can sponsor a dog, please check our Special Needs Dogs, who have higher medical costs than our other dogs. Or browse our listings for any other dogs who need sponsorships. Each listing will have a sponsorship button which makes it easy for you to donate via Paypal. |
